Biography

Dr. Susanne Rompel is Head of innogy SE’s EU Representative office, innogy SE being one of the leading European energy companies active in Renewables, Grid & Infrastructure as well as Retail. Prior to this, Dr. Rompel was heading Strategic Planning within RWE AG’s Strategy & Innovation department, responsible for Group strategy development and the annual strategic planning process. She has been working as Manager for EU Energy Policy in the RWE Brussels Office before and also has experience working for the European Commission’s Directorate General for Energy. She studied Politics, Law and French in Heidelberg and Aix-en-Provence, and holds a Master’s Degree in European Politics and Administration from the College of Europe in Bruges. She also holds a PhD in Politics from Heidelberg University.
