Biography

Dr. Clifton is a Chartered Engineer who has been working in energy and environmental science for almost 20 years. He leads the German wind energy research cluster WindForS, which carries out research into the entire wind energy system in complex terrain and offshore. Prior to joining WindForS, Dr. Clifton was a Group Manager and Senior Engineer at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in the USA. Dr. Clifton holds a PhD in Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zürich and a Masters in Engineering from the University of Durham in the United Kingdom.
