Biography

Niels is a consultant for Wood wind analysis team. He comes from an international background, having worked on renewable projects in New Zealand, the USA, the United Kingdom and France. He has been working as a Wind Farm Analyst for more than five years for La Compagnie du Vent, Engie group, a French wind farm developer, DNV GL, a major energy consultant and SgurrEnergy, now part of Wood. He has studied wind measurements, production and acoustic data, historical performance and availability to carry out long term energy yield assessments, technical due diligence and operational diagnoses for more than 2 GW of wind assets for developers, operators, lenders and investors. In 2015, he delivered a due diligence market analysis for Europe supporting top executives to build DNV GL’s development strategy. Since then he has been involved in the development of innovative services such as operational optimisation, lidar measurement and aerial inspections. He is now a certified pilot and flies drones to perform thermographic and topographic inspections.
