Biography

John S. Anagnostopoulos graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, and received his Ph.D. in CFD in 1991. He worked for several years as research scientist in the NTUA and as R&T consultant in the private sector. He has participated in more than 40 EU, national, and private research projects, and has more than 100 scientific publications in international journals and conferences. He has developed computer software for fluid flow simulation in various industrial applications, as well as for modeling of complex energy systems. He is Professor in Hydraulic Turbomachines at NTUA, and his research activities include design and operation of pumps and hydroturbines, optimal sizing and operation strategies of power production systems combining RES and pumped storage, and large RES integration in electric power systems. Since 2016 his is Board member of the Greek Regulatory Authority for Energy.
