Biography

Dr.-Ing. Doron Callies is the coordinator of the area of expertise Energy Meteorology and Renewable Resources at Fraunhofer IEE. He started as researcher at the Fraunhofer IEE (formerly Fraunhofer IWES Kassel) in 2008. During this time he worked on wind measurements, wind field modeling, wind energy potential, regional planning and reliability of wind turbines. In 2014 he completed his doctoral thesis entitled "Analysis of the potential of onshore wind energy in Germany, taking into account technical and planning constraints". Since 2015 he is a lecturer at the University of Kassel for resource assessment of wind turbines.
