Biography

Dr. Bastine has been working in wind energy research for more than five years and is currently a research associate at the Fraunhofer IWES in Bremerhaven. He studied physics at the University of Oldenburg and worked in various research projects in the area of complex systems, stochastics, hydrodynamics and wind energy. He wrote his dissertation in the field of stochastic wake analysis in the context of the project "GigaWatt Wakes". He is now involved in the current NEWA initiative aiming at a New European Wind Atlas as a standard for site assessment.
