Biography
Christina Pantazi is a biologist with MSc degrees from Manchester University and the University of Copenhagen. She worked at the Ministry of Environment in Cyprus for 13 years dealing mainly with nature protection and the Natura 2000 network. After that she was appointed to the Cyprus Permanent Representation in Brussels to be part of the Cyprus team during the Cyprus Presidency of the EU in the second half of 2012. She chaired the Working Group on Environment of the EU Council on issues related to Nature protection and EIA. Since 2016 she is a policy officer at the Nature Protection Unit in DG Environment of the European Commission, dealing amongst others with the issue of renewable energy in relation to the protected species and habitats under the EU Habitats and Birds Directives.Presenter
