Session description
Offshore decommissioning is fast moving from theory to reality. Sophisticated data-driven strategies are emerging that are designed to balance environmental responsibility with economic viability.
We will explore three examples of these novel methodologies. A new risk assessment model aims to improve scheduling and reduce cost for developers. Digital structural health monitoring offers a proactive way to monitor the condition of sub-structures, maximise operational life, and influence decommissioning strategy. Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis is used to examine the feasibility of repurposing existing subsea offshore infrastructure and the integration of hybrid renewable energy generation.
