Session description

There is a significant potential for wind farm development in areas currently in line of sight of radar systems. The aim of this session is to share experience and good practices on the co-existence of aviation and wind energy developments. By sharing best practice on radar, we would like to showcase the technology available today. We would also like to share how successful solutions have been found through proper planning, transparency and, where necessary, technology deployment. Aviation stakeholders are extremely important in the overall consenting processes of wind farms. Therefore, fostering a long-term cross-sectoral dialogue is crucial in order to reach consensus on ongoing and future wind energy developments.
