Biography

David Romero is Head of Procurement and Commercial for Southern Europe at SSE Renewables, where he leads sourcing and commercial strategy for wind and solar projects across Spain, France, Italy and Greece. He holds a degree in Industrial Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) and has nearly 20 years of professional experience, including 16 years in procurement and more than 10 years in the renewable energy sector, covering both wind and solar technologies. Throughout his career, he has held a range of roles focused on contract negotiation, supply chain strategy and commercial management. David has been involved in the delivery of large-scale renewable energy projects across multiple European markets, with a strong focus on optimising project economics, managing supplier risk and navigating complex contracting environments. His areas of specialisation include strategic sourcing, contract structuring and risk management in infrastructure and energy projects.
