Biography

CEO Knut Vassbotn founded Deep Wind Offshore in 2021, together with the owners Knutsen Group, Haugaland Kraft and SKL. In 2023, Octopus Energy became a shareholder to accelerate further growth. Deep Wind Offshore has over the last few years grown significantly and now have 4,5 GW under exclusive development in Norway, Estonia, and South Korea. Deep Wind Offshore has formed partnerships with EDF power solutions for Norway and with KHNP for South Korea. Vassbotn has over 25 years of experience from the energy sector and has developed offshore wind projects across the globe for the last decade. Vassbotn holds a BSc in Naval Architecture from University of Newcastle.
