Biography

Ricardo Rocha is the Global Offshore Wind Technical Director at BayWa r.e. and Managing Director of BayWa r.e. Projects Portugal. Over the past thirteen years, he has been driving the transformation of the offshore wind sector, leading the full life cycle of fixed-bottom and floating projects, from lease and CFD tender awards to greenfield developments across development, construction, and operations phases. Ricardo has held senior roles at Ocean Winds, EDP Renewables, and E.ON Climate & Renewables, guiding multidisciplinary teams to deliver over 20 GW of projects across Europe, North America, and Asia Pacific. As the technical strategist and executor behind BayWa r.e.’s proprietary concrete semi-submersible floating foundation, BayFloat, he is enabling sustainable, cost competitive commercial-scale floating wind projects that leverage local port infrastructure and create lasting value for local economies worldwide.
