Biography

Sean Whittaker is a professional engineer with more than 30 years of leadership experience in wind energy, renewable power, and climate finance. At the World Bank’s Energy Sector Management Assistance Program (ESMAP), he leads the Energy Climate Finance (ECF) team, driving strategies that accelerate investment and scale climate-smart energy solutions. He also co-leads ESMAP’s Offshore Wind Development Program and the Scaling Wind Program, guiding global efforts to expand sustainable wind markets, strengthen policy frameworks, and mobilize private sector participation.
