Biography
Jan Fredrik Stadaas has worked more than 30 years in various management positions in both the oil and gas and renewable business. The last 15 years has been spent building a new business area within new energy for the companies Norsk Hydro and Equinor. He has been a key person involved in the development of the floating wind concept named Hywind, in the offshore wind projects like Sheringham Shoal, Dudgeon and Dogger Bank in the UK as well as in several internal and external industrial initiatives to reduce the cost of renewables in Europe.
Jan Fredrik has previously experience from several positions within technology and project management Equinor as well being a dedicated strategy manager for renewables in corporate strategy for 5 years. Main competence areas include business development, project development and execution, M&A, Operations and Maintenance, Innovation as well as strategy and leadership. Stadaas has his educational background from technical and commercial universities such as Norwegian University Technology and Science, Norwegian School of Economics and University of California at Berkeley in San Francisco.
His current position is Head of strategy for Global Offshore wind in Equinor. Stadaas is a member of various academical and industrial advisory committees/boards such as NTNU Energy Transition, Havvind.no, NORWEP Advisory Board for Offshore wind, Scientific Advisory Committee for Offshore Wind Center at the University if Bergen as well as Chair of the floating working group in WindEurope
