PO162: Presentation of the variation of the production loss coefficient as a function of nacelle misalignement, considering the impact of aerodynamic power coefficient variations.

The calculation of production losses due to misalignment of a wind turbine over the entire Weibull distribution is routinely performed using a cos2 law. Nevertheless, the mathematical approach shows that the production loss coefficient is a function of a cos3 law that varies with the aerodynamic power coefficient. Furthermore, the gain calculations related to the realignment of the wind turbines show that they are higher than a cos2 law. Therefore, the estimation of production losses due to wind turbine misalignment needs to be clarified. The purpose of this study is to precise the way to estimate the production losses due to wind turbine misalignment.
