Abstract

Wind Turbine Drive Train Monitoring, using Vibration measurements is a heavily used and valuable technique. Best practices and standards are spread and applied largely over the last 15 years. However, the industry still faces issues regarding CMS usage: we believe that increasing detectability and reducing” false positive” alarming are the major topics. This presentation elaborates on a new diagnostic solution based on machine learning, where the system will learn the machine operation, and can detect defects in machine components, even at an early stage. With this solution the key question is not “How many Turbines can a CMS Technician monitor?”But rather “How many incidents and defects can the Technician efficiently manage?”.
