Biography

David Vaes started in SKF in 2006 after finishing his PhD in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Leuven. At SKF, he has meanwhile 15 years of engineering experience related to bearings in wind turbine gearboxes, covering activities related to calculation, design and selection of bearings for new gearboxes, bearing investigations and root cause failure analysis. Since 3 years, he is manager of the SKF Wind Gearbox Competence Centre, which is responsible for driving new developments for this application, document and share engineering knowledge and support advanced customer projects.
