Biography
Julia Gottschall (Ph.D., M. Sc.) joined Fraunhofer IWES in 2011 and since January 2021 is Chief Scientist in the department Wind Farm Development. She has been responsible for a number of R&D projects – both, publicly funded and in cooperation with industry – around her focus areas offshore site assessment and application of LiDAR technology. She is a recognized expert in the field of LiDAR testing and floating LiDAR in particular. Julia has been working on projects related to wind energy for the last fifteen years with earlier positions as scientist at Riso DTU (now DTU Wind Energy), Denmark, and ForWind – Centre for Wind Energy Research, Germany. Since 2009 she is active in standardisation with respect to wind turbine power curves and the use of LiDAR technology. Only recently, she has re-discovered onshore wind for herself and has intensified her efforts also in this area.Presentations
