Biography

Dipl.-Ing. Ulrich Langnickel has been with VGB since May 2001. As Senior Expert Wind Energy and Distributed Generation he coordinates the activities of VGB in the field of wind energy. He studied mechanical-engineering focussing particularly on energy- and process-engineering at the university in Essen, Germany. Mr. Langnickel began his carrier with DLR (German Aerospace Center) in Cologne, Germany, in 1989. His task among others was to supervise the project ”Solar Steam Reforming of Methane“ in southern Spain. In 1992 he joined to the municipal electric and gas utility of Cologne. In the department of energy management at RheinEnergie AG (formerly GEW Köln AG) he was responsible for the areas of renewable energy sources and new technologies. Mr. Langnickel was head of the fuel cell project „Fuel cell using digester gas“.
