Biography

Dr. Nikolaos Stefanatos has a Mechanical Engineering Degree (1988) and a Phd Diploma in experimental wind energy aerodynamics from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). He worked as a testing and measurement engineer and Head of the Quality Assurance Service in the Laboratory for Wind Turbine Testing, becoming Head of the Laboratory in 2008 and Head of Wind Energy Department in 2016. He is the representative of CRES in EERA-JPWind, and MEASNET Network, and participates in MEASNET and IEC Power Performance Expert Groups. During his employment at CRES he has participated in many EU and nationally funded research and demonstration programs. His main activities include: Applied research, tests and measurements in the field of wind energy (power performance, loads, wind potential, wind tunnel testing). Technical audits on renewable energy projects funded through national support programs. Training curricula for university students, engineers on wind technologies and testing and measurement methods.
