Biography

Jens Riechert holds a master's degree in Renewable Energy Systems and has worked as an engineer since 2013, with experiences from projects in the offshore wind industry across Europe and Asia. He has specialized in measurement campaigns using lidar systems. Jens has a strong background in project management of large-scale offshore measurement campaigns, development of measurement concepts and data analysis. From 2019 to 2021 he was assigned as a project manager and technical lead for the first large-scale scanning lidar measurement campaign which was especially designed to assess wind farm scale blockage. Jens has supervised more than hundred lidar verification campaigns, incl. ground-based, nacelle-based, floating and long-range scanning lidar systems. He was actively involved in the development of the IEC 61400-50-3 standard for wind measurements using nacelle lidar systems. One the use case side, Jens has a strong profile in offshore warranty power curve verification and wind resource assessments.
