With a double degree in Law and Business Administration from the University of Navarra and a MBA from IESE Business school, her professional career has evolved through Investment Banking (Citi – M&A), Strategy Consulting (McKinsey) and Executive Education (IESE Business School).
Sports team management was a hobby when she created with Jordi Xammar, Olympic medallist, the Spanish Impulse, first Spanish Team to participate in the Youth America’s Cup. Currently, she is the CEO of the Spain SailGP Team.
SailGP races for a better future, championing a world powered by nature. The world’s most exciting race on water, SailGP features 10 national teams battling in short, intense races at iconic stadium-style venues across the globe, building to the grand final – and sailing’s top prize of US$1 million. The high-tech, high-speed action features sailing’s best athletes racing in identical hydro foiling F50 catamarans, flying at speeds approaching 100 km/h.
Of course, all of this powered by wind!
Owned by Larry Ellison, founder of Oracle, SailGP brings together the world’s best sailors from Australia, Denmark, France, Great Britain, Japan, New Zealand, Spain and the United States.
Sir Russell Coutts, winner of five Americas Cups, is the CEO of this competition that combines purpose, technology and entertainment.
María del Mar de Ros’s responsibilities range from managing the team and implementing its vision, to raising commercial agreements and coordinating with the other team´s CEOs.
She is a persevering woman with clear objectives: developing the youth, the sailing industry and Spain, this is why the team’s mission is to become Youth Ambassadors for a Responsible Footprint.
