Internship – Community Engagement & Biodiversity

WindEurope is the voice of the wind industry, actively promoting wind energy across Europe. We have over 600 members from across the whole value chain of wind energy.
We are looking for an Intern to strengthen our Advocacy & Messaging team made up of 5 people.
You will be responsible for helping WindEurope deepen its knowledge and build up data about community engagement, and how biodiversity and wind energy coexist. You will also help to organise the first ever Fast & Fair Renewables award which will be given to the best community engagement wind farm this year. You will report to the Senior Advisor – Environment & Community Engagement.

Main duties and responsibilities:
- Lead the development of a best‑practice community engagement booklet and the communications around it for the Fast & Fair award
- Analyse legislative developments related to local taxation for wind farms and community engagement at European and national level.
- Develop a good‑practice database on how onshore wind and biodiversity happily coexist.
- Compile European environmental legislation on nature and onshore wind energy.
- Populate WindEurope’s existing tools on wind energy permitting.

Experience
- Master’s degree in the field of political sciences, energy or environment (or equivalent job experience).
- Previous professional experience is a plus.
Software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
Languages
- Very good level of English (written and spoken)
- Any other EU language is a plus.
