Head of Marketing

WindEurope is the voice of the wind industry, actively promoting wind energy across Europe. We have over 600 members from across the whole value chain of wind energy.
We are looking for an experienced and creative Head of Marketing to oversee all aspects of our marketing operations. This role is perfect for a marketing manager who excels at project management, has deep knowledge of the full marketing portfolio (traditional, digital, and AI-powered tools), and thrives in an impact-driven environment.
You’ll be responsible for developing and executing a cohesive marketing strategy that supports our main mission: to promote wind energy in Europe. This would include creative marcoms campaigns, event’s marketing, membership growth and engagement, and overall association’s growth and brand visibility. And you’ll have proven people management experience focused on mentoring and inspiring a culture of creativity and ownership within your team.
Key responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies aligned with the association’s goals.
- Lead annual planning, budgeting, and performance evaluation for all marketing initiatives.
- Project Management
- Oversee multiple concurrent marketing campaigns and initiatives with a strong PM approach.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams, external vendors, and internal stakeholders to meet timelines and deliverables.
- Creative Direction & Brand Stewardship
- Maintain and elevate brand voice, design consistency, and messaging across all platforms.
- Lead the creation of compelling content and creative assets for campaigns, events, and programs.
- Digital Marketing & Analytics
- Oversee all digital channels including email marketing, SEO/SEM, social media, paid media, and website performance.
- Lead the web and portal development programme.
- Use data and analytics to track KPIs, measure ROI, and optimize campaigns.
- Marketing Technology & AI Integration
- Evaluate and leverage modern marketing tools, systems and platforms to get the best-performing and most efficient outcome.
- Champion the use of AI for content creation, data analysis, personalization, and campaign optimization.
- Member Engagement & Communication
- Develop segmented campaigns that enhance member value, increase retention, and attract new members.
- Collaborate with membership and events teams to promote programs, webinars, and conferences.
- Team Leadership
- Manage and mentor a high-performing marketing team.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
- Delivery
- Ensure all marketing deliverables are produced at a high-quality and on time (design deliverables, newsletters, Social Media posts, web updates, publications etc).
- Optimise established processes towards effectiveness and efficiency.
Mindset and skills qualifications:
- Creative, open-minded and innovative.
- Ability to transform project requirements and ideas into deliverables.
- Strong design sensibility (not necessarily a designer but can guide the creative process).
- Excellent communication, storytelling and presentation skills.
Experience:
- Previous professional experience of 10+ years in marketing with at least 3 years in a management role.
- Proven track record of successfully managing integrated marketing campaigns.
- Strong project management skills – PMP certification is a plus.
- Deep understanding of digital platforms, marketing automation, CRM systems and analytics tools.
- Experience in associations, nonprofits or membership organisations is preferred.
Languages:
- Very good level of English (Written and Spoken)
- All other languages a plus.
