Decision-making in decommissioning, reuse & recycling supply chains: the German case

Session description

Germany has decommissioned ~4,500 onshore wind turbines to date and is expected to account for the largest share of future decommissioning in Europe. A significant proportion of these decommissioned wind turbines were exported to predominantly European countries for a second lifecycle. Accordingly, this postpones waste handling and shifts its destination. Join this session to learn more about the multi-stakeholder decision-making related to decommissioning, second lifecycle and end-of-life pathways, and how this is linked to the establishment of circular supply chains.
