Big data and data security in wind O&M

Supply chain, logistics and O&M on land and at sea

When: Wednesday, 29 November 2017, 11:30 - 12:45
Where: G105

Session description

Wind turbines produce a large amount of data, but how best to use them for performance assessment, plant optimisation and health monitoring is still far from clear. This session will look at how to optimise the use of high and low frequency turbine data to maximise the values of assets and will also consider the importance of keeping data secure in an age of cyber-crime.

Learning objectives

  1. Compare different modelling approaches to make sense of SCADA data for health monitoring
  2. Show how high-speed monitoring of generators can be analysed for monitoring generator health
  3. Demonstrate the benefits of hybrid model driven and domain driven approaches to wind turbine health-monitoring
  4. Show the importance of cyber-security to maintain the integrity of your data
