Come meet the poster presenters to ask them questions and discuss their work

We would like to invite you to come and see the posters at our upcoming conference. The posters will showcase a diverse range of research topics, and will give delegates an opportunity to engage with the authors and learn more about their work. Whether you are a seasoned researcher or simply curious about the latest developments in your field, we believe that the posters will offer something of interest to everyone. So please join us at the conference and take advantage of this opportunity to learn and engage with your peers in industry and the academic community.

PO447: A solution of afloat assembling for semi-submersible substructure

Wu Guo, Senior Engineer, Wison New Energies Co., Ltd.

Abstract

This study introduces an innovative afloat assembly method for semi-submersible substructure of floating offshore wind turbines, addressing the challenges of traditional land-based or launching by semi-submersible vessel assembly approaches. With the increasing demand for large-scale floating wind foundations (e.g., 15MW+), conventional methods face limitations in space, transportation, and cost. The proposed method enables direct afloat assembly of multiple mega buoyant blocks, eliminating the need for large dry docks or specialized vessels. Thus this method enhance feasibility and reduce operational cost.
