Whether you are a seasoned researcher or simply curious about the latest developments in your field, we believe that the posters will offer something of interest to everyone. So please join us at the conference and take advantage of this opportunity to learn and engage with your peers in industry and the academic community.

PO438: ALINNE@2 research network. Identification of R&D&I priorities to strengthen the national contribution of the Spanish wind energy supply chain.

José Manuel Melendi García, Innovation, Standardisation and Projects Manager, REOLTEC, Spanish Wind Technology and Innovation Platform

Abstract

ALINNE@2 is a research network supported by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities. It is a strategic collaboration between Spain's primary energy research center (CIEMAT) and the Spanish wind energy technology sector, represented by the national wind energy technology platform (REOLTEC). Its main aim is  to fortify the Spanish wind energy supply chain. As Europe strives for Net Zero by 2050, the resilience and autonomy of its industrial base are paramount. This initiative will conduct a comprehensive analysis of the entire value chain for both onshore and offshore wind technologies, from raw materials to final implementation. The primary objective is to identify critical dependencies, vulnerabilities, and strategic weaknesses that hinder national industry. By mapping the technological landscape and engaging key stakeholders from industry and research, the project will define and prioritize key R&D and innovation (R&D&I) challenges. The ultimate goal is to develop a strategic roadmap that reinforces Spain's contribution to the European energy transition, reduces reliance on external suppliers for critical components and materials, and enhances the global competitiveness of its wind energy sector. This work aligns both with major European initiatives such as ETIPWind and EERA JP Wind, ensuring that national priorities contribute effectively to broader European goals for supply chain security and technological leadership, and with the Spanish National Energy and Climate Plan (NECP), that represents the deployment plan at a national level.
