Come meet the poster presenters to ask them questions and discuss their work

We would like to invite you to come and see the posters at our upcoming conference. The posters will showcase a diverse range of research topics, and will give delegates an opportunity to engage with the authors and learn more about their work. Whether you are a seasoned researcher or simply curious about the latest developments in your field, we believe that the posters will offer something of interest to everyone. So please join us at the conference and take advantage of this opportunity to learn and engage with your peers in industry and the academic community.

PO319: CogniSense as a Service: A Scalable, Stack-Agnostic Visual Inspection Solution for Wind Energy Sector

Jesús Miguel Zarranz Calvo, Subject Matter Expert in Telco & Utilities, SDG Group

Abstract

We present CogniSense, our innovative solution, showing how it works in practice. Designed as a standard, stack-agnostic service, it can integrate with any technology stack and exchange information with existing applications through simple interfaces. Unlike rigid, product-based approaches, CogniSense is configurable directly by users, meaning that domain experts define what matters for their assets. By using natural language or a few example images and videos, new detection capabilities can be created in hours, not months. This design ensures that knowledge and competitive advantage remain inside each company. The use cases defined by one organisation are not shared with others; instead, they become proprietary capabilities that reflect unique processes, risk profiles and operational expertise. This approach turns computer vision into a business differentiator rather than a commodity. CogniSense goes beyond detection. When an anomaly is found, it can auto-complete inspection or incident reports with timestamps, location, images and evidence summaries, and even propose a diagnosis suggestion for review. At the same time, it can send real-time audio alerts to the responsible operations or maintenance lead, so action starts immediately while documentation is produced automatically in the background and routed into CMMS or HSE workflows. In the wind sector, applications cover turbines, balance-of-plant and substations: corrosion, loose fasteners, oil or steam leaks, sparks or flames, arc flash, hose or vent disconnections, meter and valve states, unsafe behaviours, or even complex video-sequence events like substation switching procedures. In short, any event a human can detect visually can now be automated—consistently, repeatably and without costly training cycles. At the conference we will showcase a wide range of examples across wind and industrial contexts (images and videos), aiming to inspire leaders with what this technology makes possible from day one: faster coverage, earlier risk discovery, and long-term control of know-how inside the company.
