Whether you are a seasoned researcher or simply curious about the latest developments in your field, we believe that the posters will offer something of interest to everyone. So please join us at the conference and take advantage of this opportunity to learn and engage with your peers in industry and the academic community.
PO065B: Optimizing Fatigue Life of HVDC Equipment on Floating Substations Through Heading Adjustment
Mahmoud Ettemaddar, Floater Group Manager, Aibel
Abstract
Building upon our previous research, this study presents the opportunity for fatigue life optimization of HV equipment on the floating HVDC substation [1]. Our work addresses a challenge in offshore wind integration: ensuring the long-term reliability of HV electrical equipment for floating substation applications. We investigate the practical benefits of two methodologies: an omni-directional wave scatter diagram and a directional-scatter diagram. While this modeling technique is well-established, its application to the fatigue assessment of HV equipment is a key focus. This study will investigate how the substation's heading design affects the fatigue damage of equipment. [1] H. Huang, L. Weimer, A. S. Hallan, M. Etemaddar, D, Backstrom, P. Ortenmark, P.
