PO022: Regenerative Marketing for Offshore Wind Integration: The Odra Energia and Kailia Energia Case Study
Ksenia Balanda, General Manager, Offshore Wind Italy , Nadara
Abstract
The Odra Energia and Kailia Energia floating offshore wind projects, developed by BlueFloat Energy and Nadara, are pioneering a regenerative approach to stakeholder engagement in Southern Italy. Recognizing the socio-environmental complexity of the Salento area, the projects adopted the Regenerative Marketing methodology—co-developed by the Regenerative Marketing Institute, Enrico Foglia, Chistian Sarkar and Philip Kotler—to foster long-term community value creation. This approach goes beyond traditional Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), e.g. compensations, or mitigation strategies by embedding community listening, asset mapping, and co-design of regenerative initiatives into the project’s DNA. Through a structured process involving over 40 stakeholders, thematic workshops, and integration of large-scale survey data (conducted by SWG), Odra Energia and Kailia Energia identified eight cross-sectoral community needs and developed two flagship initiatives: S.E.A. (Social, Energy, Art) and Wind of +Change. These projects aim to enhance cultural capital, promote energy autonomy, and stimulate local entrepreneurship, positioning the wind farms as catalysts for territorial regeneration.
