Biography

Helena is Head of the Green Tech Unit in the Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment in Ireland. Her team developed and led on the implementation of Powering Prosperity - Ireland’s Offshore Wind Industrial Strategy, which aimed to maximise the economic benefits associated with the Government’s offshore wind objectives. Helena and the team are now working on the successor to Powering Prosperity, a new green growth strategy, taking a more holistic approach looking at the wider renewable energy ecosystem. Helena’s previous work includes leading Ireland’s negotiation on the European Union’s Net-Zero Industry Act, supporting Ireland’s participation in Important Project of Common European Interests, and developing ‘Future Jobs Ireland’, a whole-of-Government framework to enhance the resilience of the economy and ensure Ireland was well placed to exploit future economic opportunities. Prior to working in the Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment, Helena spent a number of years working in the Department of Finance.
