Biography

Raul Gil Boronat is the EVP of Prysmian's Transmission Business Unit, a role he has held since January 2025. Prysmian's Transmission business unit includes submarine and land high voltage cables used in interconnectors - connecting countries or regions - and connecting generation such as offshore wind, to the grid. This business unit also includes Prysmian's submarine telecom business. In late 2025 Prysmian announced the acquisition of Xtera, a turnkey player in submarine telecom based in the UK. As part of this vertically integrated business unit, Raul is responsible for Prysmian's fleet of cable installation vessels and the production, installation, monitoring and maintenance of these cable assets as part of Prysmian's core activities in this business. Raul holds a Masters degree in Electronic Engineering from UPC (Barcelona,1991), an MBA from ESADE and an AMP from Harvard Business School. His journey with Prysmian began in Spain in 1997 and he has held a number of significant roles including the CEO of Prysmian's Latin America business, CEO of Prysmian Brazil and Chief Operating Officer of the Transmission business unit.
