Biography

Nicolas Messias has more than 10 years’ experience in the energy sector, combining a strong technical foundation with strategic commercial leadership. As Segment Leader for Wind at ArcelorMittal, he drives the group’s European strategy for the wind market, overseeing market development, customer engagement, and coordination across multiple business units. He has played a central role in strengthening ArcelorMittal’s presence in the European wind supply chain, notably by advancing industry advocacy within WindEurope and shaping the company’s contribution to policy, sustainability, and supply chain resilience. Nicolas leads R&D initiatives on the life cycle assessment of wind projects, demonstrating the essential role of low carbon steel in delivering cost competitive decarbonisation across the wind sector. He holds a Master’s Degree from IFP School’s Energy and Markets program, where he specialized in energy economics and energy transition, as well as an MSc in Industrial Management and Supply Chain from Arts et Métiers ParisTech
