Carolina Nicolás-Martín

Professor, Universidad Carlos III Madrid

Biography

Carolina Nicolás Martín is an Assistant Professor at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M), specializing in electric machine control and renewable energy systems. She recently defended her PhD in Electrical Engineering (2025), where she focused on airborne wind energy systems (AWES). Her current research explores machine control and grid integration for AWES, contributing to the advancement of next-generation wind technologies. Carolina's prior work spans energy management for electric vehicles and photovoltaic modeling. She has authored several peer-reviewed publications and presented her research at international conferences. With a strong background in teaching and academic innovation, she has received excellence awards and contributed to curriculum development. She is fluent in English, Spanish, and Galician, with intermediate proficiency in German.
