Research Scientist, The Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO)
Biography
Javier Fatou Gómez is a Research Scientist in the Energy and Materials Transition Unit at TNO, the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research. His background includes a MSc in Aerospace Engineering (Aerodynamics and Wind Energy) at TU Delft. His work focuses on modelling energy systems subjected to intermittent supply/demand using physics-based and Machine Learning methods. He is regularly involved in projects regarding decarbonization of energy-intensive assets and the development of future renewable power and hydrogen production facilities and networks. This includes research regarding the added value and feasibility of operating (part of) these assets with different levels of flexibility. He also coordinates activities integrating these systems with novel storage technologies and investigating synergies between the different stakeholders, such as asset owners and infrastructure operators.
