Biography

Jason Cotrell is the Founder and CEO of Sperra—a rapidly growing international cleantech small business dedicated to developing advanced concrete manufacturing technologies and components for renewable energy and subsea energy storage systems. Jason has worked in wind energy for 29 years including 22 years working at the U.S. National Renewable Energy Laboratory. Jason has received a variety of professional awards in his career. Most recently, Jason accepted the 2021 Business Network for Offshorewind Ventus Innovation of the Year Award on behalf of RCAM for its modular concrete fixed bottom foundation. He has 10 pending and issued patents and numerous professional awards. Jason has a Master of Science in mechanical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and Master of Business Administration from the University of Colorado.
