Chemical Recycling Group - Technician, AIMPLAS
Biography
I am Nacho Montesinos Beltrán, a Chemical Recycling Technician at AIMPLAS, the Plastics Technology Centre, holding a degree in Chemistry from the University of Valencia and an industrial Master’s degree in Polymers from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). During my studies, I had the opportunity to deepen my knowledge of polymers through an eighteen-month placement at Lubrizol, where I engaged in advanced research projects. Currently, my professional focus lies in the development and optimization of chemical recycling technologies for the valorization of plastic waste, addressing key challenges in the circular economy. I work with a broad range of technologies, including pyrolysis, gasification, solvolysis, high-pressure reactors for supercritical fluid processes, dissolution recycling, and hydrothermal techniques. In essence, I apply all types of technologies related to waste valorization, especially plastics. My experience includes managing and executing European, national, and regional projects, participating in international conferences, and collaborating with key stakeholders in the industrial and academic sectors. My expertise covers the application of these technologies to complex materials, aiming to recover high-value products such as polyols for polyurethanes and sustainable chemical feedstocks.
