Biography

Faiq holds a PhD in Engineering Cybernetics from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). His doctoral research focused on mathematical modeling and advanced control, including nonlinear and mixed‑integer model predictive control, as well as machine‑learning‑based MPC for process control applications. In 2024, he joined Hitachi Energy Research in Mannheim, where he works on modeling and mathematical optimization for power systems. His research includes stochastic unit commitment, stochastic bidding in energy markets, and covers topics such as congestion management in distribution grids and the planning of secure and resilient transmission networks under extreme events.
