Biography

Dr. Yaxi Peng is co-founder of Delft Cymatics, a consultancy specializing in underwater sound modelling, and a lecturer and researcher in underwater acoustics and wave propagation at Delft University of Technology. Her research focuses on the modelling, measurement, and mitigation of underwater noise from offshore construction, particularly pile driving for offshore wind development. She has led and contributed to international projects on noise mitigation technologies, working closely with industry partners and regulators. With expertise in computational modelling and validation against field data, her work provides practical tools to support effective noise management. Alongside her research, she teaches courses in acoustics, structural dynamics, and environmental noise, and supervises Master's theses in underwater acoustics and noise control.
