Biography

Professor Roger M. Groves is an Associate Professor in the Department of Aerospace Structures and Materials, Delft University of Techology, the Netherlands. He has a PhD in optical insrumentation (2002) from Cranfield University, UK and was a postdoc at the Institute for Applied Optics, University of Stuttgart, Germany, before joining TU Delft as Assistant Professor in 2008. He heads a reasearch group of 20 persons developing non-destructive testing and structural monitoring technology at TU Delft. He has more that 100 journal publications in these topics. He was the Chair of the Measuring by Light and SPIE O3A conferences in 2025.
