Biography

Payam Aboutalebi received a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering - Control from Shahrood University of Technology (2010) and an M.Sc. in Guidance and Control Systems from Malek Ashtar University of Technology (2014). He earned his Ph.D. from the Automatic Control Group at Universidad del País Vasco (UPV/EHU) in 2022. Following his Ph.D., he was awarded a Margarita Salas postdoctoral scholarship in November 2022, spending a year at NTNU, Norway. In January 2025, he began the prestigious Juan de la Cierva postdoctoral fellowship. Payam Aboutalebi has authored 10 JCR journal articles and presented over 20 papers at national and international conferences. His research interests include advanced control strategies, hybrid Floating Wind Turbine-Oscillating Water Column systems, offshore renewable energy, and fault-tolerant control of dynamic systems.
