Biography

Michael Zähringer is an Associate Director in Frontier's Cologne office. Since joining Frontier in 2008, he has advised clients in the European energy sector. Michael is an expert in market and auction design and has led several projects on renewable energy auctions, reserve capacity auctions and auctions for charging infrastructure. He has led several auction projects for energy companies and industry associations, including bidding advice to bidders in the Polish onshore wind auction, Dutch offshore wind auction and Spanish onshore wind and PV auction as well as auction design projects for the Swiss Energy Office for solar PV. Before joining Frontier, Michael conducted research at the Bonn Graduate School of Economics and the Eitan Berglas School of Economics, focusing primarily on auction theory.
