Biography

Amilcar joined DNV in 2008 and is based in Spain. He is a recognized reference in wind energy across Europe and Latin America. As a Blade and RCA expert, he has a strong track record investigating blade and turbine failures. He currently serves as Service Owner of Investigation for Southern Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America. He actively contributes to MT24, maintaining IEC61400-24 (Lightning Protection Systems), and to IEA Task 46 on Leading-Edge Erosion. Amilcar holds a Mechanical Engineering degree, an M.Sc in Renewable Energies, and is a GL-certified inspector. He has extensive experience inspecting turbines and manufacturing facilities across major wind technologies. His work includes post-mortem inspections, accident investigations, repair assessments, due diligence, vibration analysis, endoscopy, and thermography. He is frequently appointed as a court expert in RCA-related legal cases.
