Biography

Mariya Krestyanska Summerfield is an Associate at WSP specialising in offshore wind consenting, stakeholder engagement, and Nature Inclusive Design (NID). With over a decade of experience in European fisheries policy and marine environmental management, she has worked across government, consultancy, and international project teams. At WSP, Mariya leads on commercial fisheries engagement and is driving the integration of NID and biodiversity-led innovation into offshore infrastructure delivery. Her expertise spans technical advisory, multi-stakeholder consultation, and the development of new approaches to marine ecological enhancement, including the application of AI-enabled biodiversity monitoring. Mariya's current work includes strategic input on offshore wind projects in the UK and Ireland, alongside developing WSP's new NID service line. She is passionate about bridging innovation, evidence, and community engagement to deliver nature-positive outcomes for the offshore renewables sector.
