Biography

Mário Vieira is a Mechanical Engineer with a PhD from the University of Lisbon and more than 12 years of experience in offshore renewable energy. His work spans experimental operations—supporting the Azores Wave Power Plant—and numerical simulations - particularly on structural analysis. During his PhD, he assessed the feasibility of structural monitoring systems for offshore wind assets. He has also served as an Invited Professor at Instituto Politécnico de Setúbal. At WavEC Offshore Renewables, Mário contributes to economic feasibility studies, experimental testing, operations and maintenance assessments, and structural compliance analyses for marine renewable energy projects.
