Biography

Prof. Julio García Espinosa is Full Professor of Shipbuilding Technology at the Technical University of Madrid. His research focuses on the development and application of computational models in naval and ocean engineering. He has published 34 papers in top-tier journals and delivered over 50 conference presentations. He has led numerous national and international R&D projects in naval and offshore engineering. He is co-founder of Compass IS, specialized in engineering analysis software, and co-promoter of Scipedia, a platform for data management and analysis. From 2008 to 2020, he headed the MARINE department at the International Centre for Numerical Methods in Engineering (CIMNE), which in 2011 was recognized by the Spanish Association of Naval Architects and Ocean Engineers as the most relevant organization in innovation for the sector. He has also received distinctions such as the Duran Farell Technological Research Award and the Best Professional Career Award for Young Engineers.
