Biography
Mr. Holger Fürst has been active in wind energy research for almost 11 years and is currently a researcher at Stuttgart Wind Energy (SWE), University of Stuttgart. He studied mechatronics engineering at Technische Universität Darmstadt, with a focus on development, simulation, and control of mechatronic systems. After graduation, he joined SWE, where he worked in the groups “Control, Optimization and Monitoring” and later “Testing and Measurement Technology.” He has contributed to several national and international projects, including ANWIND, EMUwind, and NEOWIND. His main research area is the development of scanning LiDAR systems, with a particular focus on the USTUTT-FSL, a floating scanning LiDAR optimized for offshore buoy operation. Additional research interests include the design and execution of wind measurement campaigns using multi-sensor approaches (LiDAR, UAVs, and conventional masts) aiming for realistic wind field reconstruction, as well as lidar-assisted control (LAC) of wind turbines.Posters
