Research and Development Engineer, EDP

Biography

Mr. Soares Branco has been working in the offshore wind industry for 4 years. He is currently a research & development engineer at EDP (Portugal's main utility company) in Lisbon, Portugal. He studied mechanical engineering as well as energy engineering and management at Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon, Portugal, and energy engineering at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain. After his studies and before joining EDP, he spent 2 years at Deloitte as a tax benefit consultant focused on renewable energy research and development. His research is focused on the offshore wind systems and components, with a focus on design, operations and maintenance, and procurement.
