Biography
Dr. İbrahim Erden has been serving as the Chairman of the Board of the Turkish Wind Energy
Association (TÜREB) since 2022 and was re-elected for another three-year term at the TÜREB
General Assembly held on 16 February 2025. Having held positions in various private sector
companies within the energy industry for many years, as of 2025 he serves as a Board Member
at Borusan EnBW Energy and also as the General Manager of EESI Energreen Energy.
Between 2022 and 2024, Dr. Erden served as CEO of RENECORE Energy Investments Inc.,
where he managed strategic governance, business development, and investment decision
processes related to renewable energy investments. Prior to this role, he worked as Deputy
General Manager responsible for Business Development, Investments, Operations, and
Electricity Trading at RHG Enertürk Energy, and as Deputy General Manager responsible for
Business Development and Investments at Kalyon Energy, where he oversaw large-scale wind
and solar YEKA projects.
Earlier in his career, between 2006 and 2018, Dr. Erden held various roles within Enerjisa,
undertaking responsibilities in strategy, business development, renewable energy
investments and investment management, project development and process management,
mergers and acquisitions, contract management, and the management of production and
distribution privatization processes.
Dr. Erden has extensive experience in the energy and industrial sectors in both Türkiye and
the United States. In the early years of his career, he held specialist and managerial roles at
Arçelik and MR Valuation Consulting.
Since 2013, Dr. Erden has also served as a board member representing Enerjisa and Kalyon
Energy in several sectoral associations, including TÜREB, GÜYAD, and other industry
organizations. In addition to these roles, he has long been a member of DEK-TMK.
Dr. Erden holds a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Boğaziçi University, a
Master’s degree in the same field from Rutgers University (USA), and an Executive MBA from
Sabancı University. He also completed his PhD in Energy Economics and Policy at Ege
University’s Institute of Natural and Applied Sciences, earning the title of Doctor.
